Challenges and Lessons Learned
Instagram Challenge: In June 2023, Injustice Is Real confronted a significant challenge when its Instagram account faced an unexpected ban. This obstacle posed a limitation in reaching our target audience and impacted our ongoing campaigns. Undeterred, the organization responded with resilience, diligently showcasing evidence of its impactful work and consistently communicating with the Instagram community.
Through persistent efforts, the account suspension was successfully overturned, reaffirming IIR's commitment to its mission. This experience highlighted the importance of diversified outreach strategies to ensure the continuity of advocacy efforts in the face of unforeseen obstacles.
CAC Registration: IIR faced hurdles in registering its name at CAC, with the ongoing process showcasing our unwavering dedication amid obstacles. The case study illuminated the challenges organizations, including IIR, encounter in obtaining legal recognition, emphasizing the crucial role of transparency, accountability, and justice in government operations. The prolonged struggle for legal registration, marked by multiple submissions of names, held particular significance for IIR, reinforcing our commitment to overcoming bureaucratic barriers.
Goal Achievement: IIR faced challenges in reaching our goal of feeding 60 families across 4 states, given our specific target audience experiencing injustice like police brutality, abuse, and extreme poverty. Acknowledging the innovative nature of this approach in Nigeria, we successfully fed 19 families, learning valuable lessons in logistics and planning to better meet our target in the coming year.
